 I agree with you. Personally, all the links I could update, I've updated and I've created my own upload/download platform. It's not publicly accessible, but it allows me to have my own platform where I know the links will have a considerably long lifespan.
For the links I couldn't update, I've closed all the threads to prevent people from responding and thereby, pushing non-viable threads to the top.
