I would just wait for next gen my guy. If you want to start playing games check out geforce now. Its free and lets you play games remotely on their computers. You just need decent connection since its basically streaming and a game that is compatible. Been playing borderlands 2 for few months now on here since pc games are always cheaper.

If you really have to choose, i'd say go for ps4: better exclusives and bigger player base.
If you can wait, tho, aim for the new gen consoles, either to get one of those or to get a ps4 for way cheaper

if you are REALLY DESPERATE because of quarantine, start listing down pros and con and the type of games you want to play, there aint much of a difference if you pick either console. except which is supreme master race but hella pricey to make. otherwise if you want to wait, wait for next gen at end of the year,

There are some factors that play into which console to get. What games are you interested in? Do you like the XB1 or PS4 controller better? Are most of your friends on one console over the other? etc. I have a PS4 and I personally prefer it over the XB1 but it's really just preference. But like everyone else has said, it might be better to wait for next gen.
