This is a continuation of my "Scam Schemes" Series where i expose the different methods / schemes that are used to rob people out of their money directly / indirectly.

Today i will be talking about the scam scheme that i call: "Take & Run"

Scam Scheme #2: Take & Run

Scam Domination Percentage: 5-15% Because It doesn't give much return on efforts spent.
Scammers IQ Level: Medium. Needs a bit of language and convincing skills.
Victims: Sellers who do manual sales / auto & manual as well. Most likely new sellers / Sellers who aren't performing that well, that a single sale that popped out of nowhere would make them happy.

Steps:

Now there are two types of Take & Run scammers.
Type A: People Who Aren't Really Scammers, And Just Need a specific item but they are broke or don't want to spend money on it. Those are less dangerous.
Type B: Scammers Who Perform "Take & Run" as a source of income, and will rip off every seller they see, every item they can. These ones are dangerous.

The Actual Steps:

*** Scammer Checks Around Forums / Marketplaces / Discord or telegram servers. And locates the item he needs, being sold manually by a new seller.
Scammer adds seller on discord or most likely telegram because its safer for them. Once the seller replies they start inquiring about that item asking questions here and there until they convince seller that they are seriously going to buy.

Seller has got a potential buyer, Happily responds to all of the scammer's questions not having any ideas or suspicions that he might be a scammer trying to get a free item because who the fuck scams a 5$ product?

Scammer talks about how he needs to test if the product / account works for his usage. Once seller is convinced, Scammer asks for the sellers crypto address or paypal's email or whatever payment method along with the product "so he can test before paying so they can avoid additional fees if it doesn't work or something odd happens"

Seller happily sends his crypto address and the product / account the scammer asked to test, And again not having any idea that he's being robbed out of that item.

If the product is a One Time Use: Scammer Uses it.
If the product is an account: Scammer hops on as fast as possible, Changing the credentials to the point where the seller cannot retrieve it back.

Now there are two scenarios: (For Type B Scammers)

Scenario One: Scammer still wants to use the same account to scam other people. He tells the seller that the item is working fine, And that he's sending his crypto right now. Then keeps procrastinating while using his account to scam other sellers.

Scenario Two: Scammer blocks seller and moves on with his life.

How To Avoid Being a Victim To A "Take & Run" Scam?

-Use Shoppy/Sellix If Not Already

-Do not give out test accounts / items unless you have full control over them, By Means u can take them back easily in case the buyer doesn't pay up.
Or:
-Check if the buyer has a forum profile and is reputated a bit, EX: if the item is 5$ , Having more than 20 rep is fine. Just use Common Sense. And make sure to confirm it's him over forum DM's

- Never send any items first unless buyer is Reputated, And has shit to lose if he gets banned.

- Ask To Use MM.

Thanks For Reading. I Will Try To Improve my language / style with the upcoming threads. Good Luck And Stay Safe
If ur a scammer reading this, i will always put updated threads. I Will Try My best to put a limit to scams.
