Accounts affected :
  • Apple
  • Binance
  • Coinbase
  • Coindesk
  • Gemini
  • Uber
  • Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO
  • Kanye West, music mogul
  • Bill Gates, Microsoft CEO
Does anyone know how this might have been executed ?
Phishing and brute force seem highly unlikely to me.
Could this be some vulnerability in twitter ?
Also, having gained access to accounts of all those people, the attacker managed to get too less I think.

What do you people think?

Rumor is that this could be an inside job or that a Twitter employee's account had been compromised because it was done so quickly. Despite some if not most of those accounts possibly having two-factor authentication that would be impossible unless the hackers had access to some admin account.
