Hi, I'm a 1st year IT student and I'd like to know how do I determine if I like Web or Mobile Dev?

Just try programming a website and a simple mobile app and then make a decision. You can do either front end, back end or both (full-stack development). So, in the end it pretty much depends what really makes you satisfied.

thats something that goes together, when you study to be a web dev you also learn about frameworks and other languages that are very similar one to another or at least they have the same basics, means that you should be able to do both at the end of the day without many problems

also small edit: today we think more using "app" and not software anymore even on pc Op. systems so probably a more specific mobile app. dev knowledge can probably open more doors also in software dev. and so on
