Nothing more that windows defender is required if you aren't silly. If you need to test sketchy programes/files, use a virtual machine like VirtualBox (Free) or VMWare (Find a crack).
Since you are already infected MalwareBytes is a good option you can find for cheap or even free. But you can't be 100% sure unless you wipe.
