FOLLOWING THREAD WAS POSTED BY THE MICROSOFT ITSELF:

Windows 7 support will end on January 14, 2020

Applies to: Windows 7

Windows 7 support lifecycle

Microsoft made a commitment to provide 10 years of product support for Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009. When this 10-year period ends, Microsoft will discontinue Windows 7 support so that we can focus our investment on supporting newer technologies and great new experiences. The specific end of support day for Windows 7 will be January 14, 2020. After that, technical assistance and software updates from Windows Update that help protect your PC will no longer be available for the product. Microsoft strongly recommends that you move to Windows 10 sometime before January 2020 to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available.

REPLY: RIP LEGEND  :monkas:

All legends must die one time... what's insane is that they cut the support off W7 while :
1) Windows 7 is still actual / could work perfectly on all HWs -> It ain't as deprecated as they would think
2) Like XP, Windows 7 is still into the PC's market (over 15-20 % on the PC market as I rememeber well ?)
3) It's stable as fuck.

So is Windows 10. I don't see what's so wrong that people just refuse to update to it.

Well at least that means no more useless updates
Shame about Windows giving up on their latest most stable release. 8 and 10 are just not the same. Hope the next Windows will be better

Yeah, I think everything will come to an end, nothing last forever, etc etc. Sad to see how much the time has gone.
