Y'all feel like it's way too easy? All of the people I've asked that live in the United States say that they only drove like 3-5 minutes around without doing anything hard. Practically a free pass assuming you know the basics. Same thing happened to me when I took my test, just drove him around for a couple of minutes and then I got my license.

Apparently in other countries it's a lot stricter and more lengthy. Explains why there are so many bad drivers out there though.

that seems very dumb, here in the uk you have to take a certain amount of lessons i believe. Or do a intensive driving course for a week.

Here, you gotta take a test on the driver's handbook before taking the actual driving test.

But before that it's learners permit (only handbook test) then driving license (handbook + driving).

All they need you to do is have a certain amount of hours driving and have your parents/guardians 'verify' it. Or you can just do some driver's education course and get it (not too sure about the details here).

The driver's ed course seems ridiculous since anecdotally speaking, most of the better drivers I know are just trained by their parents, while the worse ones just took the course and got an easy pass.

That was too easy for you to get license... In other countries there are many tests we have to give for getting license :detectivepepe:

Depends where you are taking the test. Passing the test in NYC is a lot tougher because you have to deal with insane drivers and fitting in a good parallel park in the city is tough to do as a beginner as well as watching out for road conditions and turns in heavy traffic. However the way around that is to take your test in the suburbs. Saves you the hassle.

Japan is like one of the hardest driving tests I heard.
