Personally if I really liked a Girl and she would reject me, I could never be friends with her, I would keep her away as far as possible and try to forget about her; if you two stay friends, it'll remind you of the aspects that you like of her, and as a result you won't forget this whole thing. But that might just be me and maybe you give less importance to her than what I believe.
