-> Using student accounts and free resources and courses w/ certifications to get certified working with cloud services, cybersecurity, some formal recognition of coding knowledge [although if you put a custom-coded portfolio together, its not as necessary]
-> Fiverr [did freelance cloud, programming, auditing, full-stack work for abt. 1.5 years. Added projects and experiences to portfolio site.]
-> Deployed portfolio site in the cloud, used as many of their services as possible, optimized the fuck out of it. Documented my progress and wrote about it on my 'About Me' page. Scanned for vulns, inspected in OWASP Mantra, etc.
-> Applied for jobs for months, finally landed something working with cloud security on a contract basis. Pays six-figures. Trying to follow up with some company that hit me up on LinkedIn a few days ago and hopefully be making as much as a doctor...
With no college degree or student loans. Still college-aged watching old friends stress and eat ramen noodles for dinner.
