I have an extremely weird issue I want to ask the thread about. I used this thread to crack Turbo Tax  2022 and electronically file (for free) my Federal tax return and my NC state tax return (one state). I had to pay taxes to the IRS and I was to get a refund from NC. I put my account number and routing number for paying out of my bank account for the IRS and direct deposit for my NC. Both returns were accepted within a couple hours. However, the IRS dinged my account the following week for $62 more than was on the Line 37 ($1637 -> $1699) without any explanation. I didn't question it, but there has been a holdup on my NC state return refund so I decided to call them today to see what was going on. Th representative said it's just taking more time this year but she would expedite it as there was no problem. However, the amount she said is being refunded is $2 less than Line 34 on my electronically filed return ($568 -> $566). Out of curiosity, I asked her to visually check the transmitted return. She says that it's $566 on Line 34 of my transmitted return - bizarre. (It's $568 on Line 34 of my return.) She said she had never experienced anything like that and of course suggested I contact Turbo Tax. (Of course I'm not going to do that.)

I have never experienced anything like this either in all my years of filing income taxes and using Turbo Tax. It leads me to believe that somehow my federal return was probably altered by $62 in transmission also. How is this possible? Does anyone have an explanation? Thank you.

For some reason it wasn't giving me the free state.  It kept prompting for payment.  The free state instructions in post #1, where the bool flags are switched to 'true', were not working.  To get it to work I performed the following:

Open dnSpy
Open find Intuit.Cfg.Wte.Service.Entitlement
Navigate to EntitlementService > GetAvailableFreeStates()
Then change the number in the curly brackets to the number of states needed.  For example, for two states, enter the following:

public virtual int GetAvailableFreeStates()
{
return 2;
}

This did not work for me no matter what I tried... However, if anyone else comes across the same issue, I ended up following the earlier post from kongre and it worked:

For the state, the code changed a little this year, following this new change, it will work...

...
SP.4. A bunch of orange names will now show. Find the one called "IsStateEntitled(string) : bool" and right click on it. Click on the option that says "Edit Method (C#) ..."
SP.5. A window with code will open. Within the code, DELETE LINES 16-20 (the whole if else statement), then enter in return true;  (your method will now only have the return true in it)

17  //    return this.IsEntitled(new StateItem
18  //    {
19  //        StateId = stateId
20  //    });

21    return true;

After compile, it should look like this:

// Intuit.Ctg.Wte.Service.Entitlement.EntitlementService
// Token: 0x06001E47 RID: 7751
public bool IsStateEntitled(string formSetId)
{
    this.StateMCTCode(formSetId);
    return true;
}

Hello, I am using the TurboTax Business 2022 product (not Home & Business, the actual Business version to do corporations). I need 2 states and last year I was able to tinker around with the code in the Business version and I got it to work. This year it's not working in Business. I tried your code above but it still prompts me to enter billing and payment info and won't get me the additional state I need. Do you know what the updated code is for the 2022 Business version please?

The 2022 version linked was the Personal/Individual edition.  Anyone share the Premium or Home & Business version?

It's actually the same software. Intuit disables the "premium" features unless you pay them extra.

Just use dnspy to convert the Personal/Individual edition to whichever version you need (Deluxe, Premium or Home & Business). The very simple instructions are already posted here.

Can you tell me where to find these dnspy instruction. i tried to ones on page one but everything looks different in the 2022 version.

Thank you. Anything for Mac?

Thanks OP!  [Image: pepeglad.png]

Using the instructions on pages 1 & 175 respectively, I was able to crack TT 2021 & 2022 to remove the activation prompt.

However, both versions defaulted to TT Basic, not Home & Business which has additional features that I need.

When I tried to modify ProductConfigurationProperties & VariantConst.EditionNames PersistedEntitledEdition, dnspy would keep throwing compilation errors involving existing previous lines in the code which I didn't touch.  I followed the instructions to the letter (except replacing Premier with HomeAndBusiness where appropriate.)

I previously used dnspy to crack TT 2019 & 2020 Home & Business successfully.

Thanks for your help.

hi were you able to figure it out?

*** YOUR LIKELY GOING TO NEED TURBOTAX BUSINESS.  It's different than the Home & Business version!!!  The standalone Business version allows you to do corporations.
