Crack DLL is working, but can someone provide a little more insight on the free state? Followed the steps below but when it gets to the state download it says "your software is up to date" & when you click OK, instead of going to the next screen, you're just at the beginning where you can click start again.

1. Run regedit (Windows Key + R, then "regedit.exe")
2. In left pane, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Intuit > TY23 > PERSTATES
3. If PERSTATES does not exist, right-click TY23 and select New > Key and enter "PERSTATES" as the name
4. Open PERSTATES, then right-click in the right pane and select New > String value
5. For the name, enter "w$$iperStateIS" where $$ is the two letter abbreviation of the state you desire (ex: the abbreviation for New York is ny so you would enter "wnyiperStateIS" as the name)
6. Double left-click the entry you just created and set its value to 1
7. Repeat the process for any additional states you desire
8. Run TT, allow it to update, and it should download the files for the state(s) (note: these are downloaded into the "Forms" subdirectory of the TT install directory); all downloaded states will be available as options in TT when you go to the State portion of a tax return

Hey, I tried your steps below but when I start my state return by clicking on "Start" and it goes to the download & install your states it goes through the process then tells me "your software is up to date". When I click OK, I'm just at the beginning again with the option to click on "start" for my state return. I can't get past this...do I need to make code changes in the DLL???

#1725, great post.

Works like a charm again following the instruction carefully.

One thing needs to be mentioned, for 2nd state download, always add following safe regedit method before change the code.

1. Run regedit (Windows Key + R, then "regedit.exe")

If you use a 64-bit version of the Windows operating system, use Step 2a. If you use a 32-bit version of Windows, use Step 2b. If you are unsure which version of Windows you have, press Windows Key + R and type in "control /name Microsoft.System" into the "Run" pop-up window. The "System type" entry listed on the new pop-up window will tell you which version of Windows you have.

2a. For 64-bit Windows only: In left pane, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Wow6432Node > Intuit > TY23> PERSTATES
2b. For 32-bit Windows only: In left pane, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Intuit > TY23 > PERSTATES

I'm not able to down load the Michigan state return, used mi for step #5 but it didn't work, other states seem to work fine.  Is the code for Michigan different?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Having difficulty downloading Michigan state return using the regedit method - is the state code different than "mi" which I've tried?  Can download other states but not Michigan?  Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know the code to download the Michigan State return, using the regedit method and "mi" does not work - other states work fine but not Michigan.

Thanks

Anyone able to get a Michigan state return to download?  The regedit method works for other states but not when using "mi"?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
