Hello dear cracked.to the community and staff

Today while browsing cracked.to I saw several members posting combos in .rar format while you have to decompress it, I want to mention for a fact that .rar files in a combo section should not exist as they are useless and make no sense. Combos should be .txt file, I dont wanna mention the fact that you could put a virus on a .rar file and crypt it so once you run the rar you get the virus on your device.

My question is, why the heck would you put combos on a .rar file that wastest you half of the time, possibly gets you a virus and sometimes why the heck put a password on a rar file, it makes no sense to me.

I hope .rar & .exe files on combolist section become prohibited.

Reason I'm saying this is cause I've seen tons of threads all around the forums posting combos that contain freaking .exe format, I mean, it is a fricking virus without a doubt.

Kind Regards.
i Totally agree and you remember me right?

Not wrong what you are saying, but how do you want to maintain that? Checking every single threads for those files will require a huge amount of people (section mods)

Or we just add this as a rule for the section and then let users report if they find a thread that doesn't follow the rules. This would still require a dedicated section mod team of at least two people only for the Cracking Section + modified permissions.
I'll see what I can do, might also talk to the new Section Mods what their prefered approach is.

Yes, that would work great. I suppose in the beginning there would be a burst of reports but with time it will get lower as less people will post such threads. So, I'd say putting up the rule and having the community report such threads would work, not only that but the future threads and previous threads that have been posted in the past would be cleaned too. It's up to you to make the decision for the rest, I hope a solution will be found on this.

Would there be a way to integrate file uploading directly to the site and only allowing .txt to get uploaded? Obviously this would cause some sort of performance issue

That would be possible but put into calculation how much it would take to store all that data in a server (host), probably it would reach to thousands per month. So technically its possible but not an option to be even considered.

Or, perhaps, if you mean to not upload it on the site but instead use for example Anonfiles api and then use an uploader from the website to upload the combos and only allow .txt to be uploaded and then just forward it to the API (https://anonfiles.com/docs/api), but im sure it would cause a lot of trouble and performance issues, the speed on the foru, would probably be lower etc.

Im more on choosing some special mods who have free time to take care of this stuff and clean it off.

Agreed fully ! But i think some legit people do this maybe due to size of file.. Like if you put 1M combos it has 23mb file size then after compressing it in rar format it comes to 9mb something or less dont know...

It maybe a reason i think but rest i agree with your point some people may infect system by binding some malicious codes to rar.
